Pencil cases for darfur are needed by Jan 24th
pattetns and info on it can be found at our Rav group
The challenge is here:
”… Our next Annual Fund Raiser is actually just 6 weeks away. I don’t know if it would be possible for you to send us some pencil cases in time for that, but it would be a great addition to our Silent Auction of arts and crafts…”
What if we can’t make it to the Annual Fund Raiser, will you still be interested in the idea? Maybe they can then be stored for the next fundraiser, or given to the kids of Sudan?”:
“We’d be interested regardless of time frame. If it works out to get some pencil cases in time for the fund raiser, then that would be great too. But send anything when you can, and we’ll use it for both fundraiser purposes as well as bringing some to Sudan on our next trip over.
Mailing directly to us would suit us fine. Our mailing address is:
5255 N. Ashland Ave
Chicago, IL 60640
Thanks so much for your interest and willingness to serve in this way. I look forward to working with you and your knitting friends.”

at one point Shemu in his shorts and t-shirt was shoveling. a snowplow guy had pity on him and cleared our driveway. :0)
jaden however is pitiless and hammered snowballs indiscriminately
tali still wanted a ride on shemu's shoulders, can yo blame her? she gets so lost in the drifts!

chanukah was lovely and snowy!
shemu spent most of it with us before having to go to the east coast.
we had some great snow ball fights
actually every kept calling to see if they could come play in our snow. it made us quite popular. :0) christmas eve we had 8", christmas day 6" the next day there was an earthquake (4.5 in quincy) which shook all the snow off the house. so we had to dig ourselves out again.
the best part is lots of snow but no minus zero temps like when we lived in colorado or new hampshire.

hansi makes these amazing bug patterns and squids and "peculiar" things.
here are some of our bug bits- mantis and orbweavers bodies
each part is named scientifically, so its great science knitting for the boys
look up hasnigurumi on etsy to find her crazy stuff
