sam was preparing the torah portion and it was about the tabernacle and women "whose hearts were stirred to spin, and those who were skilled spun goat hair"
so i tried to spin him some goat hair. holy cow! it is a tricky fiber! no wonder the skille dspun it. i only made a tiny hank which i am gonna make a key chain bob i think.

but i also spun up some other stuff....plying with thread! ooooh!
this was a new thing. i like it! :-)

the secret sock knitting actually punctured my fingers! i was knitting on a tiny circ and using my finger to push the stitches...i know - not proper knitting! gasp, and now i have sore finger tips! i still love my sharp pointy options needles!
here is a kippah- rowan tapestry from heart strings

i made a fiber deal in the parking lot. LOL! you woulda though i was buying crack, it was so funny! but i found a fiber for a swap that i could only get one place and NEEDED it :-) now the box is complete. my inlaws came in for a surprise visit, so it was a great excuse to escape for a few minutes! (they live in denver)
my friend linda had a present for me. it was a great laugh! thank you so much!

my computer will not boot and i can't get the other one to log on at all. so if you need to get a hold of me i will be at my mom's on wed. and will get emails then!

i am soo much better!

i have the best blog friends! and real life in the flesh friends.
i was all PMS-y and emotional and crazy last post.
i am really better i swear.
as purple and i discussed on saturday, getting to a place of submission and trust is so hard, but once you are there, it is all peace and good. :-)
but i think i need to clarify
having just spent the weekend last month with sunni, shiite, iranians and wonderful arabic men who have become Believers I have no problem with the people.
i have a problem with things done in the name of religion. in the name of christianity, in the name of islam...people have been slaughtered, hurt, destroyed.

these same men we ate, sang, danced and worshipped with, were imprisoned and tortured for their faith. and the religion of africa the last generation, the wars and torture and genocide of their own, is something i hadn't really thought of in light of a little jewish girl who loves Jesus and wants to work with Aids orphans in Africa. it really is a question.
how would they receive her? what would they think? she just wants to go and love them. would she be safe?
it is no less dangerous than european missionaries going to cannibal tribes or any of the number of hostile locations men and women have served for thousands of years on every continent. it just was a new thought to me. it was a fearful moment.
i have one daughter learning to speak and write hebrew and another daughter learning arabic.
and having a kuwaiti brother this was kinda a weird reaction for me in my last post. it was self and shows just how much i was not trusting G-d.
trusting G-d is so much better! :-)
since then we me a woman who is a nurse in africa with one arm and aother with only one kidney :-) so i think Tirzah will be fine and get there one day.
thanks for all your lovely thoughts

stress much? or why march is not my favourite month

i tore my shoulder a week ago the stuff they gave me, wired me.
my computer looks totally fried. and Sp10 matches needed to be done.
girl scout cookies have to be delivered.
socks must be kitchnered.
and then there is the UCDavis stuff:
besides monitoring her for kidney failure, intestinal blockages, unexplained bruises, arthritis, we also have to make sure the blood vessels in Tirzah's eyes do not rupture. no one has mentioned her eys before, so another referal and another dr.
and so i pray that G-d holds this little girl together so she can go to africa-which is all she desires.
and now that the continent is soaked with islam...how do you send a jewish girl to muslim africa?
so i was just a mess, awash in not trusting G-d.
a visiting missionary-from africa- was here this week. he asked if G-d wants her to go to africa, dont you think he can heal her so she can go?
and i struggle with that. i believe He can, but i do not know His will for her life. i do not know if He has another plan using this disease, or if He will do the miraculous with an untreatable illness.
But Jeremiah 32v27 says "behold, I am the L-rd the G-d of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?"

did i mention my inlaws are coming in this weekend. atleast we got a few days notice this time

blogsnooping and sorting

i am sitting here adding new blogs to my bloglines.
it is so much easier to keep track of secretpals that way. it lists when the update, how often,etc.. so you can sort the blogging minimalists from the diehard bloggers
matching pals is not easy, and some times no matter how you try, the match was a bad one.
i hate finding the pefrect match for someone and then their allergies keeping them apart, or that they just never emailed eachother.
i am very tempted to just do a random sort and not get involved this round. :-)

i have alot of knitting i can't show anyone, cuz it is a secret. :-)
but when the patterns are up i willshow you which ones are mine
my special swap pal sent such lovely redyarn she dyed herself that has been calling to me... if only i was a faster knitter
