september is the last colourswap month, a bonus round of red and pinks.
i swapped with lori. lori lives in the wonderful city of seattle. i love seattle! the kids helped me open it. there were two response... "ooh candy" and "mmm your box smells good".
in the box is loose leaf tea, bath stuff, a notepad, pen, sour straws, strawberry puffs, a giant chocolate cherry, ambrosia handmade soap, and dive tesco yarn.
thank you lori, it is a wonderful box!
here it is so far.
interlacements rayon silk undyed (1200 yds=$18)
the yarnbra is keeping the cake somewhat contained. why am i always surprised that the numbers work out right to what they are supposed be? now that i have said that, watchout! it will be off! i love the shimmeriness.
it is on hold while i finish my SSS sock. after serious doubts over the math of the first sock, i ripped it out and began another.

we had a lovely but bust week. i started going to a study my knitting buddy wilma is teaching on wed mornings. not only is there childcare, there are homeschool tutors "so mom's can go to whatever study they want". one of the ladies who were at josh fest doing the kids stuff is the one overseeing this. great idea isnt it? talia is adjusting to the 2 and a half hours away from her mother. i only had to be called in once this week. i ofcourse am dragging my mom along with me. she gets to actually do the lesson while i am in the nursery with tali. she is my notetaker extraordinaire! my sp8 sent a perfect notebook that i am using for this study.
we had a surprise visit from sam's parents (they live in colorado), so we spent the day with them in quincy. ofcourse this meant a visit to the wool room to see the wonderful medrith. i got some lamb's pride for $3 a skein to felt...something... t&k got a skein of yarn each too, and needles . how did we not have those with us?! lol!
the drive gave me time to work on my SSS sock. i need to get that done and into the mail. it is frightening to make a sock for someone who have not met. i have only made socks for my most beloved aunt outside of my immediate area family. fingers crossed for it to fit and for her to like it.
i loaded up on some fabulous deals at heartstrings. $5 grab bags! go visit joanne! she has some fab stuff in and is moving alot of stock to make room. oh! check out her della q needle case for circs! they have sizes on each pocket! $40
lynn i have roadkill at my house. when he is done i will give him to brooke.
brooke...my wheel needs some stablizing so i can spin on it. i guess the stopping thing was not my lack of spinning skill but the wheel saying "help me". it is at my dad's waiting to be redrilled (stripped screws) and the leather piece being replaced.
if anyone goes by yarn basket, bruce is ordering wheel oil, "i will give you a hamburger on tuesday" if you pick it up for me :-) do you know of the "beginning" knitting group from 2 yrs ago, 4 of us now are spinning? what did you start brooke?
oh, and i finally got around to a bloglines account. so i am adding ya'll in. this will keep me from going to sites that have not been updated since oh august and being disappointed. did you know there are people who subscribe to my blog?! that is so weird to me! so if you do not use bloglines, go do it!

new knits on the block has eye patches to knit up. a basic flower petal shape on a string, for those who made the washclothes. there is a knit like a pirate page
cute pirate/skull patterns are here
hoho doctored some great eye patchy photos. be sure to stop by his myspace
now she is more grown up and elegant, but i still love that picture.
so, i am not sure if things are going so well with the things we have been trying that the Dr is confused and baffled, or if the Dr is just confused and baffled. different "expert" from the last one we saw.
Tirzah's blood pressure and kidney functions were fabulous. She has some joint pains that are still lingering from this summer's episode but seems to be "dormant" again. we got almost a year and a half this last time with out symptoms, so we are hoping for another year, or two, or 3....
the dr wants to check her for alot of other stuff, one being lupus. is that weird? do kids get lupus? so we are waiting for those results, actually they only call if things are bad, so we are hoping to not hear from them til our next visit in Dec.
so keep praying! things are looking good for tirzah right now. we will still be doing omega3 and aloe juice in the mean time, cuz they seem to be helping alot.
if you want to leave her comments her blog , she would think that was cool

Tirzah goes back to UCDavis tomorrow for more kidney , liver, bowel and bladder testing because of her HSP. We are praying for very good results this time as she seems to be doing much better than she was three months ago. She has been taking Omega 3 Fish oil daily and it seems to have had a good effect. Tomorrow will tell us for sure.

there were crazy bounce houses and slides and water rides for the kids, puppet shows and an arts and crafts building. usually my kids are in pairs but with the layout they suddenly became independent beings and were on different rides and seperate activities from eachother. jaden had 2 friends, which told us " my 2 best friends are arch em-nemies" not to be confused with eNemies, cuz the 2 boys he played with didnt like eachother. lol! being a typical boy, he does not know their names.
the bands were great even though the sound was poorly ixed on the renegade stage and the vocals were horribly drowned out. not bad for emo-screamo music, but sad for the jazz, soul, folk bands that shared the stage. tirzah was part of a "star sighting" someone thought SHE was famous. and boys!! we have enter a new phase of life, there were boys following the girls around and falling all over themselves, being teased for flirting with the girls who were thankfully oblivious! kezzi just wanted to skate, tirzah wanted to see rock stars.
My Knitted Bodice top is at the point of dividing for sleeves. Last night i saw a dropped stitch. blah! how the heck did i do that?! knitting with toddlers! sheesh!
My sss pal is a violinist. i searched for yummy brown rich colours. violin socks. with little lacey holes similar to the cutaways of a violin...
no such luck. so trying another sock, but get this 52 sts on size 2 needles??? is this big enough for and adult sock? (the snowflake pattern at magknits calls for this ammount of sts)
