Tali in San Jose
Michaela and sam had a fun ride arguing over control of the music

Tsunami SYC 05

we had a wonderful time, thankfully came home before the highways were flooded!
thanks to a local church, we had a free place to stay.
while there George Huff of American Idol fame, Sonic Flood , Sanctus Real, and some rapper ???? played for the main sessions. Chris Woolsey& Ryan o'Quinn were the MC's, and there were some great speakers.
Sonic Flood lead worship. So since Kevin wrote their title track (this generation) and another of their songs but the CD had his name spelled wrong, i had a special autograph picture done for him correctly. he leads worship generation's ...worship for those in the area. that was one of the most fun things i did. heehee
we got to see one of the boys from our group who had moved to san jose and was able to attend some of the sessions with us. that was a blessing. we had missed him.
over all it was a good couple of days. poor chris was sick the first 36 hours. but was crazy the last half.
the baby was fabulous. much better than i had anticipated. i had a great time with the girls. i hadn't been around alot since the baby, so it was a good time to reconnect with them and the kids we havent seen since camp. also it was great seeing Lesa again. now that she is a SoCal girl we may not see too much of her.

only an hour to go! got get some more knitting done before 2006!

when it rains it pours

after the 2nd crisis this season, i shoulda figured a third was coming.
we will not discuss the other 2, just the 3rd and why i hate this house!!!!!

after going on a trip to the state youth confrence which i DIDNOT want to go on, but had to...
actually had a decent time though sleep deprivation is sinking in.
we come home after 9 hours in the stupid car, 3 days with 5,000 teens 7 of which belonged to us for the time being..half of which couldnt follow a single rule. (there were only 2 rules.)
we pick up our kids, get fed lovely latkes at bubbe's and walk in to the house and... OUR ROOF IS LEAKING.
we have begun the 6 month rainy season. it is flooding all over the valley. and over the girls bunkbeds is a leaky crap roof.
This just adds to why i hate the house, that 3 years ago i was so blessed to have. a love hate relationship.
2 years ago the rain flood the house, a drainage system was supposed to be done in the back yard...THERE IS A GAPPING HOLE STILL that the "caretakers" for the landlord left. the bathroom sliding door derails every week, the disposal fried itself 9 mons ago. when the sink faucet rotted last thanksgiving we replaced it ourselves...with grandpaw's help. phonecalls and emails remain unanswered... crappy stupid house!
oh, and guess what else the stupid van is even acting up.

so die to the extreeeeemely pissy mood i am in, the concerts and good stuff from this weekend, that i enjoyed from the hallway with the baby, will be blogged about much later.

On the second night of Chanukah

...we had a lovely night. there were not enough latkes this year...which either means there were alot of us or that all the kids decided they are really wonderful and didnt complain.
while i did bring my camera with me tonight, i left it at bubbe's so pa could make a memory CD and wipe the memory card for our trip to san jose. so tomorrow i will put up all the cute pictures.
sam is playing with his new laptop. spoiled boy. bella got a new disney laptop too. we bought one for her and one for my neice this year. 3 is such a fun age to shop for.
we have had so much fun shopping for this day. glad we did it while there was $ to spend frivalously. (sam has a job interview tomorrow, pray, cross your fingers, hope, etc.. for him. he is getting antsy with the current job and its cut backs)
my secret sant was amanda and i was santa to jim in nebraska. it was a fun swap.
i have laundry and packing to get done for our trip. there were 5,000 teenagers last year. how many do you think there will be this year? i hope our biggest concern will be how long it takes hoho to get his hair ready in the morning. heehee

The Lights

last night Chai helped to say the blessings as i lit the menorah for the first night of Chanukah.
everyone shared sequentially a part of the chanukah story. baby tali is in love with the lights, any light at this moment. after dinner, the kids watched to see the flames change and the smoke go up.
when i was little-ish, we would watch a show called the lights i think. and the flames were alephbet letters that danced and moved. i wish i could find it. it was my favourite.
Tonight we will go to bubbe's and play dreidel and have fabulous latkes. i found so wonderful new chanukah books for them when i was in chico and the world market had gelt. my MPBC secret sis gave us some beautiful candles. the menorah rebbeca and i painted will be one i light tonight. ( i have a small..haha... collection of menorahs)
hopefully i will remember my camera tonight!

Block Head

after getting all the legs and arms done, the Babe is seamed and blocking.
instead of curly st stitch i just I-corded the arms and legs.
it doesnt seem to make that much of a difference.
i am going to run to Ace tomorrow and get the felt for the lips and eyes. hopefully it will be stuffed by tonight. tirzah made an outfit for her and kezzi is working on jammies so that bella will have a stylish babe from all of us.

if i can get this completed, i wanna make a couple pocket creatures for the boys.

Secrets

While the yellow slip in my box was not from my SP6, it was from my Secret Santa.
apparently she lives in Georgia. not being very good at waiting, i tore it open! ;-)
my present was Nancy Bush's "knitting on the road" a much coveted book.
Thank you so much!

also i was asked if knitted purses were sale items. they are. my cousin just sold a bunch of my stuff this last weekend in San Francisco.

we had our knitting night at knit wits. i was given a lovely gift certificate for Christmas which became turbo needles and yarn. my new favourite green and a tirzah pink for her slippers. we had a nice night. i got to hug chris and give her the present i made her. an felted ear wrap that i did not photograph. second one this week, darn it. add those to my finished list. 2 earwraps in lacy zigzags from the 220 book.

now since my hubby made dinner i am off to watch a movie with him.

Linking up logs in Grandpaw's hallway
Chai's monster truck...(when do boys smile instead of grimace?)

Sam and the kids are in a play. "One Quiet Night". These pictures are from Friday's performance. They are doing it again tonight. It was so funny to watch them decorate the tree...since they never have. Chai threw CHUNKS of tinsel on the tree. They did really well. not only do both the kids have their lines memorized, but they memorized the entire play! they have had so much fun. Sam always does well with drama. looks like he passed on the acting bug to atleast 2 of the kiddos. The guys got opening night chocolate and for tirzah, pink flowers of course.
Today at church , my friend Jessica gave me a lovely present. i have up til now only heard about how wonderful blue sky alpaca is. now i have my own lil basket of yummy yarn. it is so soft! what shall i make? Thanks you so much Jessica! I LOVE IT!

Santa Lucia

Happy Santa Lucia!
Today after a lovely lunch with Bubbe, I headed down to KnitWits for my lesson with 2 frantic girls who needed to knit THIS Week. We had a nice time and they did really well. no increases or dropped stitches.
Then I drove up the "hill" to grandpaw's for Jaden's bday party. When I arrived I realized the camera was still plugged into my computer. Luckily Grandpaw's was ready to go....but no pix for tonight. my father afterwards filled my van with all the boxes he collected from the post office for me. ( I love my Daddy, willing to stand in the insane postal lines of Christmas mailings!)
Jaden had 2 birthday boxes (to open in the morning.) and i had 1 box and 2 new packages of stitch markers...#4 & 5 of the swap. Michaele's were mailed Nov 22nd, Christine's were sent the 9th of Dec...both arrived today. (why are they raising our postage costs again????)
both packages contained lovely stitch markers. the first contained chinese? characters for destiny and daisies, the second had orange hues in a lil tin.
Then it would seem that sant lucia left me a lovely box of knit picks treasures and a covetous book needed just before I begin the first sweater. Sigh!
yarn in hush, asparagas, winternight & fern plus some jump rings for future stitch markers.
i love the fern the asparagas is a little more teal than i expected. hush is the color of Purple herself. i love Ms. Purple! winter night is a sam color. fern is definitely mine.
Tali's new dress from target.com arrived also, she wants me to mention. a lovely shade of pink embroidered with our favourite bear who resides in the hundred acre wood. silly ole bear!

A Narnia Birthday.
We are ready to step through the wardrobe and enter Narnia!
What better treat to eat when going to narnia than Turkish Delight?
Getting ready for narnia. the boys have their armor, the girls all have fur...even Tali who has a tiny caplet. heehee mine is from one of my grandad's movies, Kezzi's was a wedding gift to me from Aunt Ellen, Tirzah acquired hers thru the Lottie Moon auction. Zemeira's was a great sale purchase that she refuses to take off...no matter how hot it is!
Zemeira who is 3, wanted to make a scarf for her bubbe. it has to be green cuz that is bubbe's favourite color. it maynot get any bigger than a square, but with all the holiday knitting, she wanted to join in. too cute!

While waiting for my box to come in the mail Liz my newly revealed SP6
sent me these lovely patterns that i have been considering all week!
I am so excited, I cannot wait to figure it all out and cast on the first sts.
Which will I do first?
How long do you think it will take to make a sweater?
i havent made one bigger than 12-18 mons sized!
I am really looking forward to it!
Thank you Liz!

Roak'd
